The Estate
Vignobles Touchais is best known for Moulin Touchais, one of the Loire Valley's distinctive long-lived sweet Chenin Blancs. The Touchais family has owned vineyards and produced Coteaux du Layon since the eighteenth century, building a reputation around unusually long bottle aging before release.
Vineyard
The estate controls a large vineyard area in Anjou, but only a small portion is devoted to Coteaux du Layon. Chenin Blanc is harvested at high ripeness, with passerillage—natural concentration on the vine—playing an important role in the style.
Sustainability
Cellar & People
Moulin Touchais follows a traditional method built around early bottling after the winter following harvest, then exceptionally long aging in the estate cellars. The wine is not released until it has spent at least ten years in bottle, allowing acidity, sweetness and mature Chenin aromas to knit together before it reaches the market.
