The Estate

Domaine Nicolas Brunet is a nine-generation family estate in Vouvray. Nicolas Brunet farms roughly 17 hectares on the appellation's first slopes, working entirely with Chenin Blanc—locally known as Pineau Blanc de la Loire—to produce sparkling, dry, demi-sec and sweet Vouvray.

Vineyard

The vineyards sit on clay-limestone soils rich in flint, locally called aubuis. Vines range from young plantings to parcels more than 50 years old, with the oldest sites reserved for concentrated sweet wines. Harvest is entirely manual, often with multiple selections through the vineyards, and the estate replaces herbicides with plowing and traditional soil work.

Sustainability

Organic wines from the 2023 vintage onward; the estate also documents HVE certification and manual harvesting, with laboratory testing showing no pesticide residues in its wines.

Cellar & People

The domaine follows a deliberately low-intervention approach and works across the full range of Vouvray styles. Its historic tuffeau cellars maintain naturally cool, humid conditions for élevage and bottle aging, and the estate holds a substantial reserve of wines underground.
