The Estate

Domaine Latour-Giraud traces its winegrowing history in Meursault back to the late seventeenth century. The Latour and Giraud family estates were joined in 1958, and today Jean-Pierre Latour oversees vineyard work, vinification, élevage and commercial direction with Christine Latour managing the administrative side of the domaine.

Vineyard

The domaine farms roughly ten hectares, with the great majority devoted to white Burgundy. Its core holdings are in Meursault, including Premier Cru Genevrières, Charmes, Perrières, Bouchères and Poruzots, together with Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Champs Canet and village parcels such as Les Narvaux, Limozin and Clos du Cromin. With about 2.5 hectares in Genevrières, the domaine describes itself as the largest owner in that Premier Cru.

Sustainability

Regal Wine Imports describes the estate's farming as sustainable. No organic or biodynamic certification is claimed here.

Cellar & People

The domaine is centered on Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune, with a smaller red-wine program from Premier Cru parcels in Pommard, Volnay and Meursault. Jean-Pierre Latour directs the wines from vineyard through élevage, maintaining a traditional estate model in which the family controls production from its own parcels.
