The Estate
Château de Montmirail was created in 1960 by Maurice Archimbaud, who joined inherited family vineyards in Vacqueyras with new plantings he established on the steep slopes of the Dentelles de Montmirail in Gigondas. The estate is now carried forward by his daughter Monique Archimbaud-Bouteiller and the next generation, Philippe and Sylvie.
Vineyard
The domaine spans roughly 44 hectares across Gigondas and Vacqueyras, with clay-limestone soils and dramatic hillside sites beneath the Dentelles de Montmirail. The range also extends into Côtes du Rhône and IGP Vaucluse, but Gigondas and Vacqueyras remain at the center of the estate's identity.
Sustainability
HVE certified.
Cellar & People
Grenache anchors the domaine's southern Rhône reds, supported by Syrah and Mourvèdre in cuvées such as Gigondas Beauchamp, La Combe Sauvage and Saint Maurice, alongside traditional Vacqueyras bottlings. Élevage varies by cuvée, with selected wines receiving barrel aging.
