The Estate

Champagne Fluteau was founded in 1935 in Gye-sur-Seine and counts itself among the pioneering grower houses of the Côte des Bar. The family story began with Emile Hérard and his son-in-law Georges Fluteau, followed by Bernard, Thierry and then Jérémy Fluteau. Adeline Fluteau and Mathilde Bertillon joined Jérémy in 2022, extending the family succession.

Vineyard

The vineyards lie on slopes along the Seine River valley in the Côte des Bar. The estate is planted predominantly to Pinot Noir with about 15% Chardonnay, a mix suited to the region's clay soils and cool climate. Only grapes grown in the family's own vineyards are used for Champagne Fluteau.

Sustainability

HVE certified sustainable since 2017. Estate-grown fruit; manual harvest with careful whole-cluster handling.

Cellar & People

Every stage of production is carried out at the estate, from pressing and vinification through bottling, aging, riddling, disgorging and labeling. Reserve wines are held in temperature-controlled stainless steel, while secondary fermentation and aging take place in underground hillside cellars at roughly 14–15°C. The house works on an approximately five-year stock rotation before release.
